Oh, wow! When did Europe get so many of these? I just checked ZTL to see if they really had them, and suddenly I notice that it's gone way up since last time I checked.
Am I crazy? Or did ZTL list Texel zoo as the only holder of Virginia opossum for a while?
@Mr Gharial Texel Zoo was indeed the only holder of this species for quite a while. I’m rather sure that they are quite common in private collections which would explain the uprising of them (but I am no expert on private collections, so don’t quote me on that)
They were actually all-but-absent from private collections for several years, too - however, there have been new imports into Europe over the course of the last few years, which in part have provided the source for some of the new (albeit fleeting) arrivals into public collections.
