@Nix
The photo shows an individual named Kianga, the only okapi in the Kanazawa Zoo.
Kianga is from San Diego Safari Park and came to Kanazawa Zoo after visiting Zoorasia.
He was one of the first okapi to come to Japan.

@Veno Kanzawa seems to be very interested in rare hoofstock, Do you know whether it is private-owned or a public facility?

@Nix
Kanazawa Zoo is a public zoo. It used to keep rare herbivorous animals from China and the U.S., but now these animals are decreasing year by year.

@Nix it's by the yokohama municipality and i often imagine it as a side-zoo of Zoorasia (probably not that accurate but that's my thought) and yh they lost a whole bunch of rare hoofstock including chamois rocky mountain goat and gaur

@aardvark250
Chamois have never been kept at the Kanazawa Zoo.
The following animals were bred in the past at Kanazawa Zoo

Mountain Bongo(2009)
Somali Wild Ass(2011)
Common Wombat(2015)
Swamp Wallaby(2019)
Southern Cassowary(2015)
American Moose(2011)
Darwins Rhea(2015)
Brazilian Tapir(2015)
Pronghorn(2017)
Rocky Mountain Goat(2020)
Vicuna(2000)
Indian Gaur(2019)
Lowland Anoa(2014)
Kansu Wapiti(2013)
Golden Snub-Nosed Monkey(1999)

@Veno Do you know from where they sourced the American Moose and Gaur? I know that the Pronghorn was received from San Diego Zoo.

@Nix
The moose came from the Minnesota Zoo.
The gaur is noted in the chronology as coming from the International WAP.
It seems to be an American zoo, but where?
