This is a wonderful exhibit, I haven't been there in 6 years and honestly had no idea that there was a new exhibit for Brown Bears. Do you know what will happen to the rest of the bears?
I think this enclosure was converted from part of the 'old' bear enclosures but this was my first visit so not exactly sure how it all looked before...
The remaining bear old-style bear enclosures remain adjoining this enclosure and still contain polar, asiatic black & sloth bears. The spectacled bears were moved to the tierpark and although there was a sign on one enclosure for sun bears, I didnt see any so not sure if they also moved to the tierpark - there were certainly a number of sun bears at the tierpark when I visited the day after Berlin Zoo.
The new Brown Bear enclosure also adjoins the new 'Arctic' Wolf Enclosure and there is a section where the two species are mixed.
