@Chlidonias I'm not sure about this. When we went to the Gaoligong Mountain, we did encounter a checkpoint to question us. It may be difficult to visit during the epidemic.
My understanding was that the areas of Gaoligong where the wild snub-nosed monkeys are found were off-limits to foreigners (at least back when I was in China). Foreign tourism to China is effectively impossible at the moment anyway, but perhaps when it is possible for me to come back I'll see how far I can get with visiting Gaoligong.
