This used to be for a small herd of Asian Elephants...then a single Indian Rhino...then a couple of Giant Pandas...and now a single elderly Malayan Tapir who rarely goes outside. What a waste of prime zoo space. The latest Master Plan calls for this zone to be an orangutan exhibit, but Calgary Zoo is waiting on a proposed Canadian law that would ban any more breeding (or possibly even exhibiting) of great apes in the nation's zoos.
