Miller Zoo - Hamadryas, olive, and hybrid baboons

Now this is a bizarre looking exhibit! Is there a sign somewhere that explains why a half-buried Statue of Liberty creation is in with baboons? Also, what the heck are those UFO-like spaceship things? Raised shelters? Feeding areas? Escape pods?

@snowleopard Nope! There's a sign for both species, and all 3 individuals, but not idea on the theme It's a brand new exhibit too, and otherwise very nice for a zoo like this. You have no idea how confused I was walking up the path and thinking I saw a knocked over Lady Liberty! The UFO things, no clue. Barely noticed them with everything else. There's also a WW2-looking plane on the left.

@TinoPup That's hilarious. I didn't even notice the plane, because the statue, fire hydrant and UFO things caught my eye first. It's all so random!

Wow this exhibit is ridiculous, I also didn't notice the airplane at first.

I wonder if the statue of liberty is supposed to be a reference to the famous scene from planet of the apes, although baboons obviously are not actual apes...

@ZooElephantsMan That's what it made me think of, too, but I haven't seen the movie so don't know if the plane is connected somehow?
