The Australian zone, the new entrance and the various rhino habitats have elevated Living Desert to a very high status. I thought it was better than Los Angeles Zoo when I visited way back in 2011, but I think a case could be argued that Living Desert is still a better overall zoo than the one in Los Angeles. Perhaps not in terms of zoological rarities, but when looking at the quality of exhibits then Living Desert is way ahead. Los Angeles wants to bulldoze at least 40% of their zoo in the future, while Living Desert really just has the Reptile House left in terms of future improvements.
