From your photos, it appears that 'MetaZOO' is some kind of educational building, with a series of small animal exhibits inside. Would that be accurate? Are there classrooms as well? This building was closed for the day when I visited Louisville Zoo in the summer of 2010. I seem to remember there being summer camps for kids there.
@snowleopard The one wall has the few built-in exhibits, I assume they're education/ambassador animals, given the species? Then there's a square shaped open area in the middle that has the row of herp tanks, and those info ... things... no idea what to call them, but they appear to be on wheels. There are classrooms, yes, and their childrens' camps operate out of the building; that's probably why it was closed on your visit. I wouldn't have thought I could go in if I hadn't asked someone else before my visit.
