@akasha I agree. :) Although I would love if they could actually have an actual tree they could climb, the other tree is a little too large for them to climb.
 
@Zoofan15 The Werribee born males seem to have sort of obsession with heights. I was surprised to see Ato (their half brother) up at Taronga so high up a very skinny tree when I visited earlier this year! No idea how he would've gotten up, being that large:p
 
@Jambo Lions naturally love a vantage point to survey their kingdom (about the only thing the Lion King got right :rolleyes:), but you’re right, it’s unusual for them to scale trees to find it.
 
@Zoofan15 I believe at one point a few years ago, Werribee introduced a tree (albeit bare) into their habitat for the lions to climb. It included branches with springs ect. and the cubs (especially the males seemed to love it). I'd assume that's where they got this interest from.
 
@Jambo It’s funny you mention this as Auckland’s lionesses (also from Werribee) love climbing the tree in their exhibit. The previous pride (bar Amira) rarely showed any interest in this tree.
