When this space was still part of Jungle Jewels, each of the 12 window displays was a small aviary that held some of the park's tiniest birds, including hummingbirds, tanagers, honeycreepers, dacnis and euphonia. When most of the species died out, this gallery was closed in the early 2000s and left vacant for a few years.
In January 2009, the gallery reopened as the Bird Discovery Centre. The small aviaries were refitted as dioramas with taxidermized specimens, showcasing different aspects of birds and ornithology, such as feathers, beaks, diets, eggs and nests.
