There are two species found in Yucatan: Didelphis marsupialis and Didelphis virginiana. This one looks like marsupialis to me, but I am not sure. Several years ago a somewhat similar-looking specimen, also from Mexico, came to Smithsonian National Zoo in Washington, DC. At the time the curators and keepers were unsure of the species, but I believe that later it was confirmed as virginiana...
 
No, it is virginiana. The best way to distinguish Virginian and Common Opossums in Central America (because they are so morphologically similar) is that Common Opossums have creamy cheek markings and entirely black whiskers, whereas Virginian have white cheeks and a mix of black and white whiskers. Both features are clearly visible in this photo.
