So it appears that initially - or I guess I hope initially, that the bird house will require its own entey pass in addition to the one for the zoo itself, as one of the options you can choose when getting passes for the zoo is labeled "bird house". They did this previously with the pandas/Asia Trail back when the zoo reopened after the initial covid closure if I'm remembering right.
I can understand charging an additional fee for pandas considering what a commodity they are, but a bird house? I know this exhibit has been under construction for what feels like forever at this point and presumably will be very good, but that seems really odd.
I would be shocked if they weren't free and as @ZooElephantsMan said they're probably doing it for crowd control reasons. The previous passes required for the pandas were free and done for crowd control reasons I believe.
I assume they'll be free and for crowd control, as well. I'll probably wait until late summer to go, maybe, since I don't like crowds anyway. Excited to see photos of it though!
