I’ve never seen such a crowded Siamang exhibit. Most zoos focus on giving them wide open spaces with ropes to brachiate, but I suppose this is more reminiscent of the dense forests they inhabit.
@Zoofan15 Me neither. I thought it was a bit busy. I didn’t see them using any of it, they were all sitting on the platform at the front grooming. I don’t have photos because there was too much of a crowd at the window.
@akasha From what I’ve seen at other zoos, they love a platform or elevated spot to survey their habitat, but as a species that’s constantly on the go, wide open spaces (with ropes) allow them to move unhindered.
