At last!

Frogspawn in my garden pond on the English Riviera. The first clump appeared on 15 February. I've been keeping records since 2007 and the latest appearance was 19 February so this was close to that. The majority of first sightings have been in January.

@Gigit People who record spawning dates in this area (Dorset) seem to be recording frogs mating but no spawn yet.

@Pertinax Early in January, although I didn't actually see any frogs, I thought there'd been disturbance in the pond. And then the long cold spell hit us, so any first-comers must have been lying low at the bottom of the pond since then, praying for a rise in temperature.

@Gigit Plenty of spawn today in the ditches where I found it last year in a local forestry area. Found it in more places too.
