Bird House - Historic Arch in Lobby

This mosaic arch was designed by John Joseph Earley and was a part of the original 1928 entrance.

Colorfully decorated with parrots, toucans, songbirds and flowers, this beautiful mosaic arch has been relocated to the building’s main lobby, ready to welcome visitors into the world of birds."

The window you see behind it is a view into the coffee farm aviary.

I'm so glad they preserved this and kept it viewable, unlike what they did with the elephant house!

@TinoPup what did they do to the elephant house? Was there a nice mosaic there too?

@ZooElephantsMan There were gorgeous old mosaics inside the building. They're still there, preserved, but under the modern stuff.

@TinoPup does this include the images of a rhino, hippo, elephant, and tapir on the floor?
