Parrot Paradise opened in 1996 and featured dozens of aviaries of various sizes with hand-painted murals. Over the years, it had housed parrots ranging from the largest Hyacinth Macaws to small Cockatiels. Between 2017 and 2020, it was also home to a pair of female Spix's Macaws. In more recent years, the aviaries were reconfigured to create larger spaces for geographically-themed mixed displays of parrots and non-parrots, such as Burrowing Owls (mixed with Burrowing Parrots and Monk Parakeets) and Chachalacas (mixed with Macaws).
