Is this the enclosure where Denver Zoo's Dall's sheep (Ovis dalli dalli) were formerly kept? I actually remember seeing Dall's sheep on my last visit in 2018, but the zoo discontinued breeding them long before my visit there.
I’m not sure. This was my first visit to the Denver Zoo. It was adjacent to the Bighorn Sheep Exhibit and I remember that I could see the Goats from the African mammal paddocks. Specifically the African Wild Dogs I believe.
@Pleistohorse ah ok, thank you. Being that this exhibit was adjacent to the one for Rocky Mountain bighorn sheep (Ovis canadensis canadensis), then yes it would have been the one that housed Dall's sheep. How did you like Denver Zoo if you don't mind my asking?
@UngulateNerd92 I really enjoyed it and am glad I detoured a bit to the south west during my drive to Alaska to visit the Zoo. It made a great pairing with the Natural History Museum as well as the Rocky Mountain Arsenal NWR. The Denver Zoo had a really nice collection of hoofstock. The bulk of the collection seemed to be African mammals, with a nice group of Asian animals as well. Most of the birds were off exhibit. But it was a very nice city park zoo…similar in a lot of ways to Brookfield Zoo. I would definitely go out of my way to visit the Zoo again.
