Such a great shot they all look so strikingly beautiful the three Rhinos, and to top it off the Giraffe herd in the background just makes it extra awesome
@steveroberts Considering it was built in 1998, the Savannah has aged incredibly well. The dividing wall was originally designed as a filter wall to allow Springbok (no longer held at Auckland Zoo) to cross between the giraffe and rhino paddocks.
There’s actually four rhino there (one is hiding behind the other). It was the first time I’d visited and seen the father on exhibit with the mother and two daughters. Previously, I’d only seen the mother and daughters, but the youngest is now six months old and robust enough to withstand any accidental knocks from the father.
