Shedd has its notoriously tiny sea lion pool, and Monterey Bay has this somewhat mediocre penguin exhibit. Every great zoological attraction appears to have a flaw somewhere. A fellow zoo nerd was telling me the other day that Zurich had the best zoo in the world, but then they remembered the ghastly Great Ape House there.
@snowleopard I totally agree. In this case it is rather bizarre, nearly everything in MBA is designed to the top level....and then this happened. I can't think of another exhibit there that is lacking, and they have so much space to work with here if they wanted to.
