Ring-tailed coati exhibit - Former Siberian tiger terrace, 2019

Seen from above and to the side. Part of the 1968 125th anniversary jubilee complex. The last Siberian tiger died in 2015. After that the exhibit housed juvenile spectacled bear Oberon for a while until he moved. The coatis then moved in after squirrels monkeys took their place with the bears.

There’s nothing I love more than the repurposing of a historic exhibit for a species more suited to the space constraints of what was once considered an acceptable sized exhibit for a big cat, bear etc.
 
@Zoofan15 This was just a temporary filler, the complex has since been emptied and is currently awaiting renovation, which was delayed by Covid-19 and priorities going to other projects. The plan is to house big cats (tigers and snow leopards, on two different levels) in the jubilee complex again, but in new, better exhibits.
