Galápagos Islands- Galapagos Tortoise Enclosure

The Galapagos Tortoise enclosure seen from the guest path, this picture really shows off just how varied the terrain of their new enclosure is. Must be a workout for these guys.
I feel as if I've seen a hundred different outdoor tortoise yards in my lifetime, but nothing quite with the topography of this brand new habitat at Houston Zoo. A rocky, hilly Galapagos Tortoise exhibit is a cool sight and it will be interesting to see how it holds up in a dry Texas summer.

Thanks for all these great photos!

@snowleopard I really hope this isn’t one of those exhibits that starts off nice and grassy and ends up a muddy dirty mess in a year or two. The grassy hills are a beautiful sight to see, I’ve never seen Galapagos Tortoises be highlighted in such a way, gives San Diego’s Galapagos Tortoise enclosure a run for its money. Thank you so much as well! I tried my best to not disappoint.
