New- Collared Lemur Exhibit

This is the new lemur exhibit, which is a bit on the small side. It previously housed Coatis.

There was soap on the glass since the lemurs were still getting used to this space, but a rude visitor eventually wiped a bunch of the soap off to get a better view of the animals.

@ZooElephantsMan Is it indoor only, or do they have access to any outdoor enclosure?

@lintworm Indoor only - but there is a skylight. Same deal with the black-and-white ruffeds in the main atrium of Tropic Zone.

@StoppableSan The difference is that the Black and White Ruffed Lemur exhibit is substantially larger than this one. For the Collared Lemurs, essentially the entire exhibit is visible in this single photograph.

@StoppableSan A skylight...slow clap. This is 2023 not 1923. With such exhibits in AZA zoos there is not much moral high ground....

@lintworm Even as an indoor lemur exhibit there are far better ones from what I've seen in Europe - even Marwell's indoor lemur exhibits are better than from what I can see here ...
Even for coati this doesn't look very impressive at all.

I don’t remember ever having seen the coatis
