Giant panda exhibit

This is the panda exhibit for the old male " Bao Bao", who is now 30 years old. The formely exhibit for the female, which died last year,is now used for the Tayras.

The future of giant pandas at the zoo is unknown, maybe they won't get further pandas. If yes, they have to build an own panda house, and thatfor they have no money and no space. And of course, they have no money to pay every year money for"rent-a-panda"

So probably " Bao-Bao"will be the last panda at the Berlin Zoo.

there not so clear but you see the black birds on the glass.. are they a common feature in European zoos because i seem to see them alot or is it just berlin zoo?

I think, but I'm not sure, that Berlin Zoo is the only Zoo in germany using the"black birds".

I've seen them at a lot of zoos too, I think they're just decoration. Can't see them being there for any other purpose.

They are there to alert wild birds that there is a barrier so they don't fly into it. They are used widely in British zoos (not always balck though).

Now that Berlin Zoo no longer has any Giant Pandas, is it true that the latest occupants of this enclosure are Arctic Foxes?

In february it was a malayan sun bear, whose enclosure was redeveloped, the other panda exhibit is permanently inhabited by tayra.

Has the Berlin Zoo made any plans to get giant pandas again someday, or has any German zoo?

Are Vienna and Edinburgh the only European zoos with giant pandas at present?

Madrid Zoo and Beauval Zoo (France) have them too.
