A notice on the North outdoor enclosure at Spirit of the Jaguar- Chester Zoo 4/4/2023

I took notice of this on the first day of my visit, but it was later disproved when I saw an Andean bear out in the paddock the following morning (5/4/2023), and Bush Dogs in the corresponding indoor enclosure. However I would hope to see more Jaguars in the second half of SOTJ in the future.
It does mean that one.

Another sign I liked was seen in the mid 1980s. One evening at about 6.30pm I walked past the Fountain Gardens and the gardeners were cutting the grass. There was a permanent sign saying 'picnic lawn'. Next to it was a temporary sign 'Please Keep Off The Grass'. I ought to have taken a photo.

@bongorob One that always makes me smile rather at zoos is where there is an empty enclosure and a sign with an explanation ends with 'sorry for the inconvenience'. 'Inconvenience' doesn't seem quite the right word somehow though I don't know what does really.

@bongorob Yeah I did notice that on the day after (the second day of my visit), I mentioned it in the description of this media above. I have also added a few low quality photos of said bear in the Chester news thread, where there has been discussions over which individual is in here too. However there was no sign detailing the presence of an Andean Bear at the time of my trip, hence why I thought this sign was relevant and the enclosure empty the day prior to me seeing a bear out.

@ZooTripper365 Yes that's right, that would have been Kyra, the female cub born in 2018 who was held here for a few years before she moved to Hertfordshire. Since I believe it has held at least two different Spectacled bears on there way out or in to the collection.
