Red-headed Vulture (Sarcogyps calvus)

Nice series of photo of many of the interesting species in Berlin. I presume this was taken some time ago, as they haven't had the species since 2012.

Yes, it was taken before: in summer 2011. I already saw this mythical species in la Menagerie du Jardin des Plantes (Paris) but this one was in this nice position for photo so I took it for my photo collection.

This is another Old World vulture with a population that has collapsed. Any zoos that have this species should be working together to get those birds breeding.

Yes, it looks like that all asian species of vultures are endangered more or less severely :-(
