It has just decorative purpose in the tropical hall and is right next to the boatride. Youn can walk inside and some pieces of the wreck are directly at the dock. Maybe there is some storyline regarding the ride or something but since I don't speak dutch I don't know.
Plane parts can be found throughout the greenhouse. There is indeed a story that the mascot of this region, Jungle Jim, crashed here and has been surviving on his own. You can also see his contraptions and journal writing stations in many parts of the greenhouse
