The amount of money spent on the wooden covered area and the mock-rock backdrop must have been a lot, but the space for the bears is terrible. This exhibit is way too small and desolate compared to zoos which give their bears forests to roam around in.
@snowleopard It is on the small side But at the same time, it's larger than a lot of non-AZA places. so it's a tough one. They need climbing structures.
@DelacoursLangur Their doors were open so they could go inside if they wanted. It looked like they had sprayed the yard with a smell or something, all three were seriously sniffing specific spots.
