She sounds like she is a very cool little character Ms Luna, am now very invested in wanting her to continue having as long and happy a life as can have (and feel like she will hopefully get the former as well as the latter I know she is clearly very cared for and happy it seems with her life at Auckland), very cute and loveable little star she is little Luna <3
@steveroberts She’s now six years old, so getting on in years, but was more sprightly than the other two together on that visit. She has a nice exhibit. It’s not unusual to see her wade in the water during summer.
She looks so good considering that six years is fairly age advanced for her species (thank goodness top tier husbandry care means she gets to have that) and would be such an amazing sight to see her wading in the water during summer(s). Sprightly is the perfect word that could not think of personally and she really appears to be so showy (lol showy is the term have used probably overly so over the years, but sprightly is the perfect word) and so impressed that she has that unmistakable amount of playing energy, she sounds like one pretty especially unforgettable individual. Im team Luna for the longevity record of her species now of course, and fingers crossed if her personality and behaviour patterns are a forecast of hopefully.
ps different species (in fact not even marsupial too lol) I think considering Auckland clearly has an amazing setup for their Tassie Devils and other marsupials that they should be given very straightforward and easy access (if they decided to) to housing Platypus(es) someday soon maybe (just from research it appears Platypus are one of the most difficult Australian species to be able to have based on very specific keeping and looking after husbandry practices etc, like for example the state of Western Australia has never been graced with any at Perth Zoo or anywhere else either, and from what I know Adelaide Zoo has never had either..but Auckland has my vote of confidence completely, in the present tense though just very happy to see how Luna and her contemporaries are living and seem to be enjoying their lives
