@Pleistohorse Have you ever seen one of these in the wild up in Alaska? Is it even possible to see one anywhere in Alaska unless you get extremely lucky?
Once a co-worker and I spotted one and he was able to get a picture as it ran. I’ve never seen another. I have a friend in the NPS who was a ranger at the Eielson Visitor Center in Denali NP and she was leading a hike and the group spotted one on the tundra slopes. A few years ago, a female with kits hung around in Bear Valley in Anchorage and several folks were able to photograph and view the animals over a couple days. Spotting one comes down to luck as far as I can tell. The animal seems to be most commonly spotted in open alpine / tundra areas. I posted a picture in the gallery of a Wolverine trail a few years ago and I just missed spotting the animal. That one hung around for a few days and was sighted multiple times and then moved on.
