The blackrail fencing will be the new barriers for an expanded giraffe outdoor exhibit. The current fencing and exhibit size is seen here (the chain link in background of the photo). The new fencing will double the size of the giraffe outdoor area.
@TNT While the photos don’t capture the whole exhibit expansion, yes, the exhibits are still small compared to other giraffe exhibits. They do, however, triple the size of the outdoor space the giraffes did have (the chain link fence areas in the picture).
These yards will only be used regularly for one year while there is construction happening at the zoo near the usual giraffe outdoor exhibit, which is much much larger.
