Pallid Gerbil (Gerbillus perpallidus) at Zoo Berlin - April 4th 2014

A very appealing small rodent, this taxon is displayed in large numbers in the nocturnal basement of the Zoo Berlin carnivore house.

I really appreciate all your reviews and photos, but why do you need to use the flash in the night house, that is certainly not for the benefit of the species living there....

If it's any consolation, my general rule is to only do so when the lights are still on and it's a species I have never seen before so as to get a record shot and I only do so once per species, so if the first shot fails I don't try again.
