If image isn’t enough, it has a golden yellow head, striking shiny blue thorax/abdomen, and black wings.
Not in a zoo, insect I found wandering the woods today.
Arctiidae, Ctenuchinae subfamily. Very obviously, for ID most wild animals and very especially insects, the absolutely minimum requisite would be to give a location, at least a continent.
 
@Kakapo Did some research after your initial comment and came to a similar conclusion on Ctenucha virginica most likely being the species.
