At least it's nice to see some natural substrate in this old exhibit, as some of the other enclosures are cement in all directions. The soft floor really softens the harshness of the concrete and is hugely beneficial to the primates. I think that the AZA should mandate the use of natural substrates for all indoor exhibits. Yes, it's more difficult to clean but for foraging and multiple other reasons it's amazing to see soft flooring.
@snowleopard The keepers are working hard at trying to make what they have look more natural, both for visitors and the animals. A lot of exhibits had potted plants and things too.
