Sali is 15 years old and the eldest female Sumatran tiger in New Zealand. She was born 2008 at Perth Zoo and handraised at Dreamworld. She arrived at Hamilton Zoo in 2012 and gave birth to the zoo’s first litter of cubs in 2014.

0.1 Sali (10/04/2008)

Sali is now a grandmother. Her son Kembali sired 1.2 cubs at Adelaide Zoo in 2022.

@steveroberts Due to being handraised, she’s very confident around people and often used in encounters. It’s great she was able to be integrated with a litter born six weeks later at Dreamworld. Had Kemiri had the same upbringing, she might have been able to breed when she was transferred to Adelaide to be paired with a male.
