@DavidBrown The Reptile House at Wildlife World Zoo has some awful exhibits with zero natural substrate, just like the cement waterbowl for the Saltwater Crocodile in this photo. The crocodilian exhibits are mostly all terrible and the zoo has not improved its exhibit quality over the years other than the mainly excellent hoofstock paddocks.
There's definitely enough room for this big croc to comfortably lay on land, but it's unyielding cement and there's zero natural substrate. It's really disappointing to see, especially in what is a fairly new (last decade) exhibit. Just around the corner is an American Alligator exhibit and the pool isn't deep enough for the adult gator to submerge! I didn't get a photo as there was a lot of glare on the windows. In one of the aquarium buildings, the zoo has a Nile Crocodile with just enough cement to lay on, another piss-poor enclosure.
The one half-decent crocodilian exhibit is for a white American Alligator, as that animal at least has a deep pool and a few rocks to scratch its belly on.
