Asian elephant young bull 'Anjan'

He is certainly getting big now! Always surprises me on my recent visits. Wonder how long until he gets sent off? Not an expert on elephants, what age do the usually do this?

@Fallax The last few Chester-born bulls have been between the ages of three to five years old when they left, with 'Anjan' being five currently. Although, the EEP Best Practice Guidelines for the species state that zoos have the responsibility to keep young bulls for a considerable time (up to the age of twelve years plus). This can be possible with a 'fission-fusion' social system to keep the young bulls close to the natal herd, so 'Anjan' could potentially be at the zoo for a while longer.
