What are Bactrian Camel, Reindeer and Yak doing in an African exhibit?

@Osedax Both of those species used to be in a different part of the zoo, but they got moved here when the zoo expanded the bear exhibit.

@birdsandbatsyou never heared about the uganden karibou or the Botswanan yaks ?

@Osedax I recall once upon a time South Lakes had reindeer graze in the Africa field too ... thankfully not anymore !

@Ituri I don't think you need to be a purist to find the reindeer and yak, especially, rather absurd! Two well-known species that don't leave anywhere near there and visually don't fit in at all. The camels less so, I expect a lot of people think they're from there (like they think tigers are from Africa, too). If they were nilgai or some other similar-but-not-savannah species it would be a bit off but not the end of the world, but this makes no sense to me. Especially when they have an area called Arctic Passage the reindeer could be in.
