could have stacked some rock with long rock for roof like england zoo use and do. I hope boys don’t hide behind it as visitor already whine so much
@PercideRolo I agree the rockwork definitely doesn't look very natural (in my opinion the den in the current Hyena exhibit is better than this new one). But I am happy that the zoo at least put some effort into it, rather than slapping a shelter together out of wood and corrugated metal. If they really wanted to spice things up, I'd love it if the Hyenas and Lions rotated between these two exhibits, but currently there are no signs or hints of that happening.
Yea look out of place. Has covering on it for now probably to protect colour? It just look weird. Doubt roatate will happen. Not with that hole in front of lion.
mised oportunity to make that cave near viewing. could have done stronger version of pecary bubble at stoneham zoo. share burrow with hyna. would be cool
