Hippo Pool

This is the hippo pool?? It is pretty large but it looks more like a river. Do they have any land that the hippo’s can access and how many hippos do they have?

@Jambo It is possibly the second biggest after West Midlands SP in the UK.
They do have land, when I went it was quite grassy, but it’s often muddy.

It is to the bottom right and of a decent size.

@felis silvestris I believe there the hippo [only one now] has a good amount of land-space. But it rarely uses it...

@felis silvestris Good point, I wasn’t thinking about Longleat, likely because it is just a huge lake and a plot of land next to it, and not purpose built for hippos, still a hippo exhibit nonetheless. In the original comment I was just talking about the pool not the land. I don’t know the exact size/volume of the hippo facility here but it’s much larger than most I’ve seen for hippos anywhere, albeit a lack of grazing opportunity (which is rare anywhere). But yes, Longleat has the largest amount of space for (a) hippo in the UK at the moment to my knowledge.
