Golden bats and Pink pigeons

By Gerald Durrell

Drawings by Edward Mortelmans
@UngulateNerd92 It's been a while since I read the book, but I loved the parts about the Pink Pigeons and the Round Island reptile fauna such as the skink and the boa. I need to look through my books but I think I only have this one, Menagerie Manor, and A Zoo in My Luggage. My favorite is The Drunken Forest, which is the first one that I read in 6th or 7th grade. It's followed closely by my second favorite - The Overloaded Ark. I also liked The Bafut Beagles but I haven't seen a copy of it since the early 1980s. I've read Catch Me a Colobus, A Bevy of Beasts, and Birds, Beasts, and Relatives, but it's been nearly 40 years. I would love to find a copy of The Whispering Land one day because that looks very interesting, but I haven't found it yet.
