Would the species you saw in Kenya be the same as the legendary hog that used to live at San Diego Zoo? I'm guessing that they are different, but here's a photo from 2008:

@TinoPup They are about a foot taller than Common Warthog on average, I believe. I think they're majestic :P

@elefante The species was described in Kenya! Their range here is pretty limited, though, I believe. I only know them from the highland forests of the Aberdares and Mount Kenya, though I would expect they also occur along the border of Uganda in places like Kakamega.

@Ituri That makes even more sense, thanks for correcting me.

@aardvark250 The largest wild boar males are of a similar size, though slightly less long and these forest hogs are somewhat more slender. On average these forest hogs they are slightly taller and heavier though compared to males and female wild boar are considerably smaller than female forest hogs.
