Male Hawai'i 'Ākepa

(Loxops coccineus) At Hakalau Forest Wildlife Refuge, Hawai'i Island, HI.
I actually live in the islands now, so I have had many trips throughout the years to experience these amazing birds! The O'ahu elepaio & the palila are the only two forest bird left that I have not seen in the wild yet.
 
@JaxElephant That is an impressive record! Thank you for documenting these observations with photos and sharing them on ZooChat! Most of us will never see these species - the Apapane is the only Hawaiian honeycreeper that I would consider half-way common.
