Mantis shrimp

Small tank beside seahorses, National Marine Aquarium, 8th September 2023
I had no idea that mantis were present in British zoos, so its great to hear that they are. Do you know of anywhere else which houses them, and where in the aquarium are they held?

@Kalaw I saw one in 2018 at Newquay Blue Reef, but I didn't see one there this year.
The redeveloped area at the NMA is opposite the tank with giant starfish and sea anemones, which used to hold the giant Pacific octopus(es) - in other words between the Sea Grass Lab and the circular Biozone room with the coral fishes. It has 2 very small tanks (for this shrimp and 2 Doryramphus pipefishes) on either side of a good-sized tank for the seahorses, stocked with Banggai cardinals, razorfishes, a small goby species and a filefish.
