@Ding Lingwei Thank you for letting me know - I had read that the captive and wild populations had been growing, but I didn't realize how many there were in Chinese Zoos! This is definite conservation success story!
 
@Summer Tanager Apparently I underestimated the captive population in my previous reply: after some research I found there're actually 13 Chinese zoos with crested ibis, and I haven't count the breeding centers specially established for the species yet...
 
Wow - that is a much greater increase that I expected! I'm glad to see that it's doing so well after dropping to a handful of birds forty years ago!
