The photo shows approximately one third of the enclosure. This part of the pool used to be occupied by the female, before she passed away in 2019. Now the lone male has access to the whole exhibit.
@ThylacineAlive It might be challenging if you simply pass by, but with enough patience he will eventually surface to breathe. The turtle is especially active during the first month after emerging from hibernation.
