What program did you use for this? I'm working on a masterplan map, but it isn't turning out right - yours looks fantastic, so what tips do you have?

I drew the map on a paper sheet, scanned it and filled the scan with colours using the free software Inkscape. The animal vector images have been sent to me by @Mr Gharial , an other zoochatter.
It took me an hour, plus the time to write the animal list.
That's all !
