This is a very sparse style of map compared to some of the others from Taronga of this era - but this is the zoo of my childhood and seeing maps like these brings back plenty of fond memories. I reckon the dholes would have been there at this point (between fennec fox and peccaries), but strangely they were rarely on the map!
It's kind of funny how zoo nerds are nostalgic for specific maps, even though those particular maps might be basic and not very noteworthy. It's the great memories. Also, it's weird that the Dholes are not on the map, but apparently there's almost no zoo maps with Gaur at Whipsnade even though they were present in the collection for a long time. Some zoos just can't squeeze all the major mammals onto their maps.
@snowleopard Yeah interesting to hear about Whipsnade as well being in a similar position. I noticed the dholes on one of your more recent maps, which provided outlines of the specific enclosures, but that section of the zoo did have a number of smaller exhibits in close proximity, so it makes sense.
