Tiger Shark (Galeocerdo cuvier) with remoras

I heard that the Okinawa aquarium attempted to have a Great white shark at some point. It only lasted a few hours I believe since it did not have enough space to swim around. And Great white sharks cannot ever stop swimming of course. Its a shame since I have never seen a great white shark before.

@Luke da Zoo nerd For great white sharks the main barrier to keeping them in captivity is that even if you give them lots of space to swim in circles, they don't understand barriers and will smash into walls and corners at high speeds.

Was the Great White kept in the same tank as the rest of the large sharks? If so, even if it was successfully kept for a period of time, it would have eventually caused the other sharks stress and a death would have occured.

@Dr. Wolverine I believe he was. As for this tiger shark, he now lives in a sea pen that you have to book a separate tour for. Be warned though, it’s weather permitting and tickets sell out fast!
