This looks like an enormous meerkat exhibit, and is it really as large as it appears in this photo? What are those huge, alien-like contraptions in the enclosure? Lights, feeders or heaters?
It is big. The contraptions are teher to catch invetebrates for the merkats, ha,ha. Joke away, they are absolutly USELESS, and they were expensive, very, very expensive, more than the whole exhibit....
@snowleopard: If I remember correctly, those contraptions are supposed to provide shade in hot summers; and as you can see on the picture, they also have a heating lamp attached to them.
