@Great Argus The main difference being that this aviary's (and zoo's) collection of Australasian cockatoos and parrots has completely disappeared since 2019. Not sure what the reason is, but going from 5 to 0 in four years is noteworthy.
@Coelacanth18 Very noteworthy, they had quite a number of species. Victoria Crowned Pigeon is another notable absentee. Perhaps this is foreshadowing of the aviary's removal, it's not the most sightly.
@Great Argus It is absent from the master plan map, so it seems like that is the eventual plan - although that phase isn't supposed to start for several more years.
Some animal species no longer there that once lived in this aviary in the last five years include:
- Lesser Sulphur-Crested Cockatoo
- Galah
- Luzon Bleeding Heart Dove
- Long-billed Corella
- Pied Imperial Pigeon
- Nicobar Pigeon
- Tawny Frogmouth
- Princess of Wales Parakeet
- Victoria Crowned Pigeon
@Nile Hippo Expert Two of the four posters in that thread are @Coelacanth18 (the OP) and @Great Argus, both of whom have been to Fresno... I don't think they need you to tell them what used to be there
